Dear José,

thank you for your important information.
This is a "WORKS FOR ME" - as the Spanish font is only a starting point:
- It lacks German Umlauts
- Each country has probably its own handwriting that is used in schools.

This means, there will be more fonts for more countries.

Meanwhile I am in contact with a German font designer, and he is doing a great
job. His fonts will be under free license (GPL/SIL) and include most glyphs
needed in Europe (including €, accents, Greek letters etc.)

First release coming soon will be called "Gruenewald VA", as many German
primary schools use a handwriting called "Vereinfachte Ausgangsschrift (VA)"
that has been designed by Heinrich Grünewald in 1969.

Another free font will follow the handwriting used in British schools.

So, this is leading to the discussion, if Debian-Edu has a special interest to
package such fonts and to include them into its distribution by default.

Without any dependencies (ttf!) I can't see any objections against including
such font packages into our repositories, until they get into stable.

Should I upload these fonts to any SVN of Skolelinux or Alioth?
Any hints for further preceeding?

Cheers
Ralf
