------- Additional Comments From daniel.royert@hurum.kommune.no 2007-12-04 12:00 -------
@ #2
the thin clients have 64Mb or 128Mb RAM, the servers have 4Gb.

@ #5
1: the thinclients are connectet to the ltsp server, the ltsp server is
connected to the tjener and the printserver, the printer is connected to the
printserver over LAN. the printserver is a dedicated debian 4.0 server.

2: xorg uses about 50% of the memory on my thin client, which have 128Mb RAM.
32Mb of that is VGA shared memory. With Impress open there's +/- 5Mb RAM free.
If I start the presentation the thinclient begins to swap alot.

@ #11
well, my thin clients doesn't. apperently they start to swap, then they crash.
with the new kernel they don't crash as much, but it still happens.

@ #12
adding more nbd swap doesn't help at all, because with the default kernel they
crash almost imidietly after they start to swap.

@ #9
how would you script it?

disabling transparency solves the printing part of the problem, but
presentation in Impress still uses alot if memory.

if this isn't resolved soon, I will have to replace Skolelinux with something
else because this bug renders OpenOffice useless.
