Sorry, I don't have my bugzilla password with me...
I just tested the issue on a local machine. Same behaviour. Then I opened
kcontrol (from within a KDE session), entered sysadmin mode and changed
settings from there. Two results to be observed:
1. kdmrc gets much smaller (all commented lines are dropped)
2. the preselectUser option is added in further sections:
[X-:*-Greeter] and [X-:0-Core]
I dare attach the result, on next occasion I will upload this file to
bugzilla.
