[Bug 1245] New: multiarch-dvd installs i386 on an amd64-machine when booting with linux debian-edu-expert
http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1245
Summary: multiarch-dvd installs i386 on an amd64-machine when
booting with linux debian-edu-expert
Product: Skolelinux
Version: etch-release-3.0r0
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P3
Component: debian-edu-install
AssignedTo: debian-edu@lists.debian.org
ReportedBy: philipp.slz@arcor.de
I installed an ltspserver using the multiarch-dvd.
The default graphical installation installed an amd64-system, that's right since
it is an amd64-machine.
But when installing with "linux debian-edu-expert" the text-installer chooses to
install an i386-system, although it's the same amd64-machine.
It's a bit like gambling.
There's no chance to choose between i386 and amd64.
Personally I'd like to have the opportunity to choose the architecture, I
haven't checked if it is possible in the classical expert-installation.
But if the installer chooses on his own, he should always choose amd64 on an
amd64-machine, regardless on what kind of installation it is.
