mmm, it's a tradition ;-). I begun to do it with different folders when
the bytecode changed often with different versions, so you could chose
the versions that worked with your old projects. As it doesn't happen
anymore with the development version you're right, I'll do it that way.

There's not official changelog as it is from svn, not an official
release. To know all the changes you should point to
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_name=gambas-devel-svn

Anyway, in short, 95% of changes from 1.9.49 are due to the work on the
gtk component. It was pretty delayed and now it's in sync with the qt
component. 5% are bugs fixing. I prepared the svn version because in
LinEx we need the gtk changes, but if you don't use it I would recommend
you to stay with the 1.9.49. Specially because upstream has used gtk
2.10, and that version didn't go into etch (it was a real pitty as its
packages were in Debian ready in September, some months before Etch was
released), so to use the gtk component you would need a libgtk2.0
backport from lenny to etch. Anyway you can install all the new packages
but gtk & gtk.svg without any problem in etch.
