OK. Now we know why the KDE autoconfiguration do not work. The ESERVER
variable is not set in the environment. Is this the wrong variable to look
for? According to http://www.tux.org/~ricdude/dbdocs/running_esound96.html
the correct variable is ESPEAKER. Does it help to replace ESERVER with ESPEAKER
in /etc/desktop-profiles/debian-edu-config.listing ?
