Dear list, currently I read some irritating news about OLPC: Accordingly costs rise by 75% up to 175$ due to the decision for supporting windows as OS. http://newsfeedresearcher.com/data/articles_t17/idt2007.04.28.13.21.24.html http://news-buzz.info/a/100-laptop-to-cost-175 What else do you know about this issue? Any comments?
I for one was getting worried that the hardware specs were just too low on the original design. I think the increased cache is very important. Python reportedly runs as much as 200% to 300% faster now (http://www.olpctalks.com/ivan_krsti/ivan_krstic_at_google.html) which is pretty importance since all olpc-specific code is in Python. --Tom
