Hi mates > The discussion shows that adding files to a file system and adding > entries to a LDAP database is no violation. Adding entries to the LDAP database without noticing the user about it *is* a clear policy violation. If you provide a README.Debian and maybe a script which can be called by the administrator manually after the installation and which sets up the LDAP data you need, then it is fine for debian. For debian-edu you would then need to change the LDAP data within the debian-edu* packages. This way cipux would be policy compliant and I do not see a problem with that. For an upgrade path we would have to document that maybe the script has to be called manually by the admin. That would sort out this issue and the cipux package can also go into debian which is one of our primary goals as we do not want to have debian-edu packages only. Cheers Steffen
