can be done already, simply requires changing the value of the LISTINGS_DIRS 
variable (set in /etc/default/desktop-profiles) to include that directory

hm, we currently have 1 package debian-edu-config that's installed on all 
debian-edu machines AFAIK
-> It might make more sense to split up debian-edu-config in subpackages, or
   is this overkill? (post-etch in any case at this point)
