Not sure if that will help, as the package already is compressed with
gzip -9.
gzip does not compress sound or images. It is very hard to do
looselessly, however lower quality images and souds could be used and
higher compression level can be choosen at Jpeg or Ogg encoding stages
to reduse the sizes significantly - in fact the only limit to this
reduction is how much quality needs to be retained in the images or
the sounds.
Also cutting, for example, background music to a new
gcompis-data-extra package that would not be on the CD might be
reasonable (one could also include high quality sounds and images
there).
