If kschoolmenu stays unmaintained two alterantive packages for this system  
funktionality exist, desktop-profiles (from Bert Cornelis (cobacco), currently  
 in sid) or cdd-common (cdd-update-menus from Andreas Tille).  
  
These two may allready agree on one of them for the future.  
  
Besides group menu functionality kschoolmenu also implemented a menu  
editor. KDEs/Gnomes normal XDG menu editor might be used/patched to edit group 
menu defintions for desktop-profiles/user-role-menus.
