You can find out which version, and cd build date you have installed, by  
running "grep Debian /etc/apt/source.list". You can also find out which  
profile, and language that has been installed by running  
"cat /etc/debian-edu/config/".   
  
Please give us this feedback. 
 
Strange that you cant find /var/log/base-config.log. Maybe you have a file 
named /var/log/installer.log?
