about xterminals over satellite links

markos told me the other day that you were perhaps interested in
using debian-edu over satellite links.
i dont know any details about your setup but i have some imput:
of course there are performance penalties when the xterminal is
not in close proximity of the server.
i build a testbed for (totally unrelated) sattellite
transmissions with linux before and used a tool i got from andrew
morton (and modified slighly to add random bit errors) to insert
a configureable delay into the configuration. this tool could
help you to try how usefull debian-edu is over a sattellite link.
