Was Plone setup on a Woody-based or Sarge-based system?

Did it use official Debian packages of zope, or what hacks was done (if
using backported packages, which ones and of which date)?

If using official Sarge Debian packages, was "zope" used or "zope2.7"?

The reason I ask is that parts of the problems experienced with Plone
(not described in detail here, but at our meeting in Norway) may be
solved by now officially in Sarge.

The other half of the problems (localization mess) is possibly due to
lack of understanding of our needs at the time of configuration, and
thus sub-optimal use of Plone localization tools. I do not say this to
offend those initially setting up the Plone-based website, but as a hint
that some problems may need redesign, not another CMS engine.

I'd be happy to discuss this further if there is an interest in doing so.

I'd also be happy to avoid further discussion: please point me to
conclusions/summaries of earlier discussions, and explain to me why it
is irrelevant to take into account the development done with Plone and
Debian integration since then.
