This report covers two less active than usual weeks in the holiday season. Done: - Purchased tickets for the January meeting. - Kept up-to-date with all the new security advisories, making sure that all have bugs filed and fixing some of them in sarge, including writing some patches from scratch (several days work in all). - Fixed sparc kernel udeb build that I broke earlier. - Some work on supporting usb keyboards on sparc, semi-successful. - Fix menu ordering issue with cdrom-detect (#285778) - Worked with the kernel team to help them decide how to deal with the kernel ABI incompatability issue. They've now decided to increase the package soname. - Made d-i daily builds download udebs from unstable, which works around most of the issues caused by the kernel ABI issues and will be needed anyway for testing unstable d-i. This included adding support for building preseed files into d-i initrds, which may turn out to be especially useful for skolelinux eventually. - Refactored and cleaned up anna a good deal; added support for "anna-install <udeb>" (in trunk); this is probably key for supporting 16 mb ram installs after sarge is released, as well as many other interesting things. - With Wichert, coordinated the move of the d-i subversion repository to costa.wiggy.net. Plans for this week: - Get my automated test network back in operation (offline due to houseguests). - Add new powerpc and alpha machines to automated test network. - Register/tickets for Jan dev meeting. Really this time! - Get sarge caught back up on security fixes. - Update d-i kernels to use new sonamed packages. - Work on RC bugs on debian-edu packages. -- see shy jo
