I've tried in vain to make the ltsp-usb by Hilarie Fernandes work. The package is installed, the necessary lines added to lts.conf as documented in man (8) ltsp-usb.

Has anybody been able to make this work reliably?

Yes, but not together with lts-floppyd; ie not both floppy drive
and USB storage unit on one client at the same time :/

Yes, that's what the manpage says so I did not try that.

Are you running floppyd for your floppy drive as well? If so; try
to disable the floppy-init script in lts.conf for debugging?

No, the client does not even have a floppy :)
Seriously, no, i do not run the floppy rc.d-script.

Did you make it run just of the box?

I was able to access the pen having restarted floppyd with the devfs-device after having changed manually the permissions. But after removing and reinserting the pen no access was possible.

So I wonder if it is correct for floppyd to use the static /dev/sda1 or whatever device, perhaps the correct device is the devfs one. And possibly floppyd does not handle devfs very well.
