Hi, I just read http://www.xandros.com/news/press/release24.html and had the following idea: Xandros is Debian based and thus might profit from Debian-Edu if they would try to continue this effort also in schools. So it might make sense to exchange some e-mails with them. Kind regards Andreas.
At LW we had the opportunity to be introduced to their Director of Marketing and Media Relations. In exchange for a press release and good case study material, we will be migrating some Mandrake installs to Xandros at a Boys and Girls Club in Hawaii and at the Makiki Community Library. He was sincerely interested in helping.
I smell the same opportunity as you for Xandros and debian-edu. As it stands, they don't have an out-of-the-box Academic package. If they embraced the skolelinux/debianedu development, we would all be better off, so it seems.
With Sarge's stability looming, we are now promoting skolelinux as our thin-client solution. We look forward to being of research, support, and case study value to the project and are at your service if we can be.
