There seem to be several such systems in development at the moment. I
believe it is more sensible for the people interested in developing
such systems to join forces, and make one very good system.
Did you research which alterntives already exist. I'm aware of
Schooltool, and believe there are several similar systems being
developt as well.
And if the goals of the different systems are too different, I hope
the developers talk together and make sure the information can be
shared (imported/exported) between the different systems.

This sounds very good. We need more active developers. :)
