Workstation Crashes on Login (KCMInit)

Dear list,

As I didn't remember the name of the process crashing after login at our
teacher's workstation, there were no replies at all. Please allow me,
to quote the whole lot, as somebody might have purged their mailbox.

Does KCMInit have to run at startup? What is the easiest way to get rid
of that message?

Regards
Ralf
