New Skolelinux CD image prerelease 47 (pr47)
I've made a new Skolelinux CD image, prerelease 47. It is available
from <URL:ftp://developer.skolelinux.no/skolelinux-cd/>. The image
size is 649 MiB.
Major changes since the previous image:
* In first stage installer (debian-installer):
+ Started using kernel version 2.4.25 in d-i. (Petter)
+ Dropped our simple language choice, and use the default one from
debian-instaler. (Petter)
+ Upgraded boot floppy to the latest version. (Petter)
+ Improved PCMCIA HW detection. (Debian)
+ Added support for Greek locale (Markos)
+ Added support for Low Saxon (nds) locale (Bart/Sven)
+ We probably forgot to list something.
* Changed from bind version 8 to version 9. (Rune)
* Changed from dhcp version 2 to version 3. (Finn-Arne)
* Change LTSP to use PXE by default. (Ragnar)
* Corrected nagios configuration. (Ragnar)
* Cleaned up xdebconfigurator code and now using maximum 24bit color depth to
avoid problems. (Werner)
* Fixed some problems in kschoolmenu. It should be working now. (Petter)
* Fix some samba problems in webmin-ldap-skolelinux. (Maximilian/Finn-Arne)
* Improved webmin i18n framework (Bart), added Dutch (Bart), Brazilian
Portuguese (Aracnus), and updated French (Hilaire) webmin translations
* Security updates to: kdelibs (to 4:2.2.2-13.woody.9 / DSA-459),

I have testet that the CD is bootable and installable using VMWare.

The following configuration for server and LTSP-server should work out
of the box:
- Apache
- CUPS
- DHCP
- DNS
- LDAP
- LTSP
- NFS
- NTP
- SMTP/IMAP over SSL
- SSH
- Squid
- Webmin
- User administration
- Backup
- Host and service monitoring.
The following services do not work as they should:
- SMB (lack LDAP authentication)
- cfengine (need host netgroups)
- SQL-server (unable to install automatically)
- Appletalk (no one has worked on it)
Test it and find out more. :-)
The disk usage for the different profiles (in KiB) is as follows.
Please take the numbers with a small grain of salt.
