New Skolelinux CD image prerelease 41 (pr41)
I've made a new Skolelinux CD image, prerelease 41. It is available
from <URL:ftp://developer.skolelinux.no/skolelinux-cd/>. The image
size is 648 MiB.
Major changes since the previous image:
* In first stage installer (debian-installer):
+ Reinserted manual partitioning tools when new main-menu started working
again. (Petter)
+ Improved PCMCIA and USB support. (Debian)
+ Improved HW detection, to support more HW. (Petter/Debian)
+ Reorganized build system. (Debian)
+ Added many translations. (Debian/Petter)
+ Improved error reporting. Most error dialogs are now in red. (Debian)
+ Changed partition to make swap size relative to memory size. (Debian/

* Add script to dynamically scale file-max, to avoid running out of
filedescriptors on large servers. (Ragnar/Petter)
* Added Brazilian, Catalan, Italian and Portuguese ispell dictionary and

* Removed abiword to find space for the new dictionaries. It should be
reinserted when we get rid of the old install system. (Petter)
* Improve tests executed at the end of the installation, to detect more
problems. (Petter)
* Corrected DNS names, avoiding holes in IP ranges. (Ragnar)
* Add and update some more helper scripts for samba. (Maximilian)
* Reorganized locale-specific configuration, moving most of it to the
locale-config-skolelinux package. (Petter)
* Correct NFS export of LTSP client swap. (Ragnar)
* Changed exim config to remove frozen messages older then 7 days (Rune)
* Changes to Webmin-ldap-skolelinux (andreas/finnarne):
+ Fixes OpenLDAP sizelimit limitations(Fixes bug #442)
+ Added search instead of listing all users
+ The deletion of a user now also deletes the personal group
+ User names created from fileimport is now limited to 8 chars max
+ It is now possible to edit and remove illegal usernames (more than 8
chars and so on)(Fixes bug #467)
+ The Admin password is remembered while adding/deleting/editing users
+ The Add User now explains why a user isn't added
+ Generated passwords no longer breaks the output from fileimport
+ Other bugs includes #469, #520, #472, #466
* I probably forgot something.
I have testet that the CD is bootable and installable using VMWare.

The following configuration for server and LTSP-server should work out
of the box:

- CUPS
- DHCP
- DNS
- LDAP
- LTSP
- NFS/SMB
- NTP
- SMTP/IMAP
- SSH
- Squid
- Webmin
- User administration
The following services do not work as they should:
- cfengine (need netgroups, ie LDAP or NIS)
- Backup (not ready yet)
- SQL-tjener (will not install automatically)
- Appletalk (no one has worked on it)
Test it and find out more. :-)

there has been 62 packages added, 114 packages changed/upgraded and 50
