DPL Elections - elections of another sort :)

Hi all,
Just read that the DPL (Debian Project Leader) elections are going to
be happening soon. See [1] and then see the three candidates who are
running this year [2] [3] [4] which is accessible via the 1st link
itself.

It is fascinating to see the changes each of them propose. Now the
point to note is that not everybody can vote for it, only Debian
members (i.e. Debian maintainers and Developers) those who have a
stake and who do the work in Debian can vote for it as they are the
ones who are directly affected by the decisions and direction of DPL
and the Debian project. This means 8-10 people from India would have
chance to vote (if the names given by me on the Debian presentation
[5] are any good.]

2. http://www.debian.org/vote/2012/platforms/wouter
3. http://www.debian.org/vote/2012/platforms/algernon
4. http://www.debian.org/vote/2012/platforms/zack [current DPL]

This also serves as a motivation for people who want to work on free
software and gives a choice for those who are also looking for/at
democractic processes within which are/might not be available at some
of the other distributions.

Till l8er.
