This isn't a dpkg bug, as dpkg-reconfigure isn't part of dpkg.
adam@kaa:~$ dpkg -S /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure
debconf: /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure
This was also fixed over the weekend in debconf 1.4.44. As long as
you've got at least that version on the system then the error shouldn't
occur again.
Reassigning this to debconf, closing and merging with the other reports.
