Bug#142324: [ER] Should add homepage URL in package description
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,
I vote +1 for the Homepage: and License: fields :)
Unfortunately some packagers start putting homepage urls inside the
description text. This is distracting, so I want to help implementing
this proposal.
The question I have is: what is required to add a new debian control
field?
I presume this is what basically has to be done:
1. Add field entry to dpkg/lib/parse.c: struct fieldinfo fieldinfos[]
2. Add field entry to dpkg/sripts/dpkg-scanpackages.pl: @fieldpri
3. Add documentation of new field to deb-control(5)
4. Add new field name to lintian and linda package checkers
5. Add new field name to info screen aptitude/src/pkg_info_screen.cc
Is something missing here? Perhaps dselect also needs to be patched.
And of course the packages.debian.org stuff should link those
homepages, but I don't know where those scripts are developed.
Greetings, Bastian
