Bug#258608: dpkg: better screen width handling

Package: dpkg
Version: 1.10.22
Severity: wishlist

It would be so nice if one of the following could be added to dpkg:

--full -- causes the screen width to be ignored and just makes
lines as long as they have to be.

or use the column width only when stdout is connected to
a screen/terminal/tty/pty/whatever. thus, when stdout is a pipe,
just use full length as needed.

Thanks,
