Package: dpkg
Version: 1.7.2

on 10/03/2001 I have upgraded my debian to testing.
Now dpkg does not work anymore.
It seems to work perfectly, but if I check I can see it has not
unpacked anything.
It gives me sometimes also perl errors as reported in bug 87434.

I was able to reproduce this bug also on a new installation of debian
in a spare partition
after I upgraded the new installation to testing.

Must have been a bad combination of libraries at the time.
It can't be guaranteed that the testing distro will work
perfectly.
