Bug#148322: dpkg-source: obscure error messages
Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.9.21
Severity: wishlist
By mistake I specified -x instead of -b, thus running -x on a directory:
$ dpkg-source -x bigloo-2.5a+really2.5b-beta-2002-05-16
dpkg-source: error: syntax error in source control file ./bigloo-2.5a+really2.5b-beta-2002-05-16 at line 0: empty file
The error message could be made more explicit, by 1st checking whether
we're dealing with a file.
