Already added to Summary. I guess I only posted it to deb-policy,
not deb-dpkg, though... Maybe I should have ?

Well, this case is special because that's not "2.0.0pre" but "2.0pre":
$ dpkg --compare-versions 2.0pre1 '<<' 2.0.0 && echo yes || echo no
This case is already covered in latest summary, too.
