Package: release-notes Severity: normal Hi, Section 5.3.3. of the release notes (about the transition from evdev to libinput) has an example of how to get the old emulate3buttons behaviour (i.e. use click both buttons as middle-button). It should also mention, though, that libinput is likely to leave middle-button and drag as scroll up and down (because the default scroll method is button, and the default button is 2). This means people who just wanted a middle button will get the confusing behaviour that their "middle" button clicks OK, but they can't click and drag with it. I think this should either be documented, or the snippet adjusted to add: Option "ScrollMethod" "none" Thanks, Matthew -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-3-686-pae (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init)

Dear reporter, Thanks for taking the time long ago to submit your release notes bug. I'm closing these reports now because the Debian releases they were reported against have reached their end-of-life (some long ago). Unfortunately it's possible that the report I'm now closing may still have relevant information for the current release (bullseye). If you believe that's the case, don't hesitate to reopen the bug, retitle it and provide further information and it will be seen during the current freeze period of Debian.
