Package: release-notes
Severity: normal

Dear Debian folks,

without the non-free firmware from the package firmware-linux-nonfree
installed, most systems based on AMD graphics devices/chips have
problems with suspend to RAM, start up (wait for over a minute if
firmware cannot be found) or do not even work at all [1].

The need to install this package should be documented in the release
notes.

Thanks,

Paul

I think the situation's improved quite a bit since this bug was filed,
but anyway...
