what can I do to help?

Howdy.

I'm a Linux user since 1997. I've used several distributions
before, and most recently I've used Gentoo on x86 and Sun.

I created an enhancement for a Sun tftpboot image produced
by Gentoo, which would allow for use of udpcast for disk imaging
within that network boot environment. I documented how to use
it, using the Gentoo Guide XML, and then generated the HTML from it.
You can see my documentation example of that contribution, here:

http://www.artistic.ca/dteed/tftpboot-udpcast/

I'm considering adopting Debian on my home server, mainly for
the better QA and fewer releases involved with Debian stable, and
its ability to use a security only update repository.

However I am disappointed by the state of Debian documentation
compared to that of Gentoo.

I discussed my view on how Gentoo has done a better job at
documenting things, on the Debian forum here:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=879&highlight=

While I am not the Debian user with 10 years experience you might
wish to see contributing, I offer some of the opposite of that.
I don't understand what fakeroot is, and when I see documentation
that isn't clear in that regard, I will be able to notice!

However, I do have enough Linux knowledge that I will able
to contribute without being a waste of your time.

I also have some experience with SGML if that is useful. I once worked
at SoftQuad, in support of their SGML Editor "Author/Editor" (which
was ported to Mac, Windows, and many types of Unix).

Recently, I was responsible for preparing the Linux template for Acadia
University for use in their laptops.

I would like to help with Debian documentation, with the goal of
making it clear, easy to understand, and detailed. I would like
to ensure there are fewer instances of ambiguous or vague
bits such as the reference to "kernel-image-2.X.X-arch-etc"
in this document:

Can I help? What is the next step?
