Of course. But, alas, introducing a new driver to a stable kernel is
IMO a violation of the stable principle. But I do understand that
those things are necessary from time to time.

Yes. Unfortunately, in this case, I was just the one doing the
debugging and getting yelled at for debugging, not the one who
deployed the update.
