the same functionality is provided by uscan (via mk-origtargz) in the
next devscritps release, based on Files-Excluded fields in
debian/copyright.


Would you mind evaluating whether that does all that you need?
(debcheckout devscripts and build and install usually).


We need this integrated seemlessly in our tools to not waste more
developer time than necessary.
