My plan has always been to add this to a new (collaborative) database:
http://wiki.debian.org/CRMI

Why not in the control file? Because some maintainers don't want and it's
very important to have consistency across all packages so we must have the
possibility to add that information for packages where the maintainer is
not interested in providing it himself.

(But it's still vapourware at this stage.)
