The warm historical sentiment is so thick, why, I think that there must lie a good challenge in it. The only package-selection method less preferred than dselect, it would seem, were selection by Morse code. I use dselect all the time, Scott. Although no eccentricity is especially intended, I like dselect; and the warm regard expressed in this thread motivates me. If dselect would receive some development help, then see my reply to BTS #282283. (I would prefer to commit dselect source changes by tweezers and a small magnet, incidentally. I have learned this method from Tollef. If dpkg Arch is not yet configured for tweezers and a small magnet, can it be?) -- Thaddeus H.
