apt-get dist-upgrade / dselect threaten to remove 1500 packages?

All,

I think I've seen someone else report this _somewhere_ on one
of the many lists I'm subscribed to. Most of my machines run
unstable and I apt-get update most nights.

The latest apt-get update threatens to remove lots of packages
including apt, gcc. Is this a temporary glitch associated with
preparations for sarge release or a bigger problem?

I did install upgrade-system briefly, then purged it before actually
attempting an upgrade. -user might have been a better bet, I suppose,
but I know many of us here run unstable and one or other developer
probably knows the exact state of the package archives at any one time.

Here's hoping we can release Sarge soon - I have testing running on
five machines and a laptop at work and it would be nice to tell my
management it was a stable release :)

Andy
