Will debian-installer support root on raid5?
Hi all,
I did an install a few weeks ago, on a server where I wanted to put / on
raid5 and /boot on raid1. Debian-installer didn't support setting that
up, so I did it manually (like I had to do before with other systems).
When will this feature be added to d-i?
Also, / on raid1 was not a supported configuration, but I used it anyway
and it worked on a p2-300. Now I realize that I'm probably lucky
because the order of disks from the kernel's perspective and the bios
perspective can be different.
It looks like lilo has a good system where the boot record installed on
the mbr each raid1 drive points to 0x80. IIRC this can be done with
grub also, but hasn't been put into the grub-install script. Is anyone
working on this?
Thanks,
Mike
