Firstly, there might be bugs in Intel's implementation. Secondly, lots
of parameters like instruction latency, functional units, and branch
penalty are different. All these are currently only optimized for
AMD's chips in gcc. It's hard to judge how much difference it makes,
though, since Intel preferred to not publicise technical documents and
instead pours scary amounts of money into making their compiler gcc
compatible.
