I tried understanding katie once, but after finding out that it uses
the same tools I would do manually (i think it was dpkg-scanpackages
at that time), I stopped my efforts and wrote my own
package-pool-helper. Which is - btw - not published since Debian
indicated desinterest for "one more Package files generator" which had
at that time unique features.
