Well, people know that I point out when things suck and do not hide
them. So I do this time:

WHAT T.F. IS GOING ON WITH FTP MASTERS?

I am quite pissed by how the system works in the last months. It is okay
to wait 1..3 days for a freshly added binary package (source package
verified before) but it is NOT OKAY TO WAIT THREE WEEKS. It is also not
okay to to wait 4..<infinite> weeks for a source package to be accepted
when the license issues are absolutely clear for all source files. Such
delays suck. They block the whole development. Our fresh example are the
mono-assemblies-base package which is quite large and should be splitted
but when we do this, the whole development is broken again for weeks.
That is not the way to go so todays working morale of ftp masters
actually hurts the project.

I expect an answer to this mail within few days. I wish to hear at least
one sane word of explanation, the problems have beeing kept in silence
for a long time now.

If there is no reaction, I request the DPL to consider appropriate
methods to improve the situation (eg. by replacing the staff of the
ftpmaster team).

Regards,
Eduard.

PS: feel free to expand the list of blocked packages, qt-x11-free is the
next important package I know about.

PPS: I know some of them do good work and I remember getting response
when something was not clear, but it has been a while ago now.
