I decided to follow this, and changed the schema-file. Now also
operations like:
ldapsearch -h bugs.debian.org -p 10101 -x -b dc=current,dc=bugs,dc=debian,dc=org '(&(debbugsDate>=1057643283)(debbugsPackage=mgetty))'
work.
