If it was added now, it probably wouldn't reach stable until Sarge+1 .
I assume Sarge will be 2.4 based, let alone Sarge+1. Using 2.2 for Woody as 
the stock kernel instead of 2.4 was unnatural to many. Sarge on 2.2 is too 
unlikely to happen.
