Compared to the solution mplayer finally adopted (automatic runtime
cpu detection) having different binary packages from which $user has
to choose the correct one IMHO _is_ a hack.
I can see that Gabucino's mails can be understood as an invitation for
flames but I do not think this will help anybody.
