This sounds good to me.

If the LSB hierarchical regex is something like
"_?([a-z0-9_.]+-)+[a-z0-9]+" and the LANANA/traditional regex
is something like "[a-z0-9-]+", then .orig, .bak,
.yyyymmdd, #*#, and *~ will already be excluded.  It's only the
hyphenated extensions which complicate things.
