No, you should follow the "usual" rules. There's no need to go overboard
on the bureacracy, and maintainers have already had months to respond
to these bugs if they were going to.

Highlights:

	* get it right

	* don't mess with other people's packages - make minimal changes
	  to fix the problem, keep the changes in line with the
	  maintainer's maintenance of the package, etc

	* make it easy for the maintainer - explain everything about what
	  you've done, log it in the BTS, cover any other ways of doing
	  things that you considered but rejected, be prepared to fix
	  any problems the maintainer raises that you hadn't thought of
	  or hadn't thought were important
