Bug#163054: Maintaining a package you don't understand?

In a related message in bug #159719

If you don't know enough about fonts to answer the questions (which are
fairly simple), then I seriously question your ability to properly
maintain this package. There are others out there who can and will
maintain it; I personally was waiting for it to mature a little more
before ITPing it, but I would be happy to adopt it now.

I also take umbredge at the idea of "I only really care about <foo>
support, so I won't worry about anything else." That's not the way you
make a distribution that supports over 8 architectures and multiple
kernels, and that's not the way to make a distribution that supports as
many people as possible.
