I never suggested sweeping any bugs under the rug.  However a known bug with a 
known work-around should not prevent a system from operating fully and 
correctly.

I am not trying to put words in anyone's mouth.

I raised this matter for discussion here because the maintainer doesn't think 
that the module removal should be turned off in their package.

So are you now saying that you agree that hotplug should be changed in this 
manner?
