I'm still mentally stuck in Solaris[tm]-land.  I want devfs on
/devices so I can get a decent idea of what the kernel thinks, and I
want a nice normal filesystem for /dev where I can enforce what *I*
think without having to jigger some silly daemon to keep track of it
for me.

I've half-pondered going whole-Solaris-hog, writing a "reconfigure"
script that would run through /devices and make the corresponding
nodes in /dev for me, but leave EXISTING entries in /dev well enough
