I agree with the problems involved that you spotted. However it's the same
type of problem as say virtual hosts. It's about using ressources and
about debian defining some sane scheme so that various software systems
work cleanly together on them.

My addition was so short because I wanted to mention it. I will not be
implementing it. But in case someone steps forward and implements it for
his package it'd be nice to keep in mind that a universal solution to it
would benefit a lot of other packages which could then plug into that or
adapt the same type of solution.

Again, I am fully aware that checking a PCMCIA card and having immediately
many user processes started that go downloading their email, files etc. is
a presently unresolved problem of the proposed solution.
