Actually, I am happy for every problem I don't have to care about ;).
But because this is one of the rare issues that absolutely must be fixed
for the Debian GNU/Hurd to get anywhere sane, I have to check from time to
time if there is anything I can do to help with this. (it seems I am
offering my help it in a way that makes people think I am trying to force
them to do something very specifically, I have probably not found the
right way to communicate my goal yet. I make very specific proposals to
have a good ground for discussion, not because I want to see it implemented
exactly that way. A specific proposal is much easier to discuss than a
vague idea).
Can you send me this patch? I would like to take a lot at it to see what it
would give us.
For dpkg's arch handling, I don't really am attached to any particular
way to do it, as long as it gives us the basic features we need to get
things like makedev out of our Packages file ;) So, I am concerned about
getting this functionality into the system. Feel free to clue me into any
plans you have if you want me to help out in evaluating it in the context of
the GNU/Hurd.
Thanks,
Marcus
